Since 1933 the Banff Centre has provided a nurturing environment where Canada's cultural and intellectual leaders can get away to work and think in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.  For nearly twenty years, Cygnus has provided ongoing wayfinding and signage related services, helping the Centre to evolve into it's current form and identity. In 2008, the Centre began a major redevelopment, adding three new buildings, a major exterior amphitheater and changing vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns throughout the site.  As part of this undertaking, Cygnus developed an updated wayfinding program for the site, including new gateway names and features, as well as exterior signage. In addition to exterior components, Cygnus has led the design and implementation of donor recognition features, including elements for named spaces and a centralized donor exhibit.

Relevance

Cygnus has successfully developed and incorporated interactive screens, donor recognition signs, and an online catalogue and order entry system. Cygnus maintains a strong ethic and we’re pleased with their creative input and initiative in helping to manage the university’s signage program.
